Started in 1937, Bellamys are widely recognised as the go-to place in London for everything Citroën.

The Challenge

Bellamys appointed Rebixit to take on their SEO in order to increase their organic traffic. With search being the first point of call for many people ready to make a decision on purchasing a car, Rebixit needed to ensure that Bellamys had the right kind of visibility online.

Rebixit’s outcome was to establish a strong online presence for Bellamys and therefore bring quality traffic to the Bellamys Citroën website.

The Solution

We paid special attention to analysing and improving on-site elements (headings, meta descriptions, internal links, image compressions, page titles…) as well as tackling more in-depth technical features. We also discovered a great deal of empty or expired pages that were negatively impacting Bellamys’s ranking.

156 meta descriptions were rewritten, and now contain the most important keywords Bellamys are aiming to rank for.

 

132 pages had their H1 tags rewritten and optimised, eliminating duplicates. We also discovered that 291 pages were returning a soft 404 response code, resulting in users being redirected to irrelevant pages. Rebixit redirected all of these pages to the right content, some were set to return a 410 response code.

The Results

From the work to date we can already see positive results that can be attributed to the SEO work, including ranking on the first page of Google for keyword phrases such as “Citroën dealer London”, “Car dealerships London” and “Citroën London” (for which the Bellamys website did not feature on first page prior to the SEO work). Moreover, Bellamys now outrank key competitors which previously sat above them in the same search phrases.

Following the SEO work Bellamys experienced a 153% growth in organic traffic compared to the period prior to the optimisation, which resulted in 100% more enquiries.
